Hi! World Buddhist University http://www.wb-university.org/ I just can't figure them out. Who are they? Anybody knows anything? Metta, adelheid
There is a lot of stuff on their website and I didn't even look at half of it. It seems that they, themselves, do not offer degrees but rather they work with different schools in the area of curriculum development, etc. I saw a reference to three different schools with whom they currently have a relationship, one in France and two in Thailand. Aside from contacting them directly, I'd consider contacting the folks at the University of Sunderland (UK) and asking them about it. There is a DL Masters degree program in Buddhist Studies at Sunderland and their staff is likely to know something further. Jack
Here's the keynote address from the December 2000 founding of the WBU, made by Ananda Garuge of University of the West/Hsi Lai University and Chairman of the World Buddhist University Council. It discusses the current state of Buddhist Studies and the role that the WBU sees for itself. http://www.wb-university.org/?do=shownews&banid=15&newid=46
