Will this be considered duplication??

    Hey Y'all,

I was just notified (a few moments ago) that my portfolio for upper-level Political Science Internship credits had been approved. The request was for 9 hours. The class POLS4000, was a 9 hour block of credit that was titled "Political Science Internship". However, the advisors (apparently) didn't want to give out a nine hour block of credit and, after contact with the school, awared me three different blocks of credit totalling nine hours -- with a different course number. Looks alot like this:

    POLS4000a - Political Science Intern. 3 hrs.
    POLS4000a - Political Science Intern. 3 hrs.
    POLS4000a - Political Science Intern. 3 hrs.

Won't Excelsior simply consider this a duplication of credit? Is it possible to try and have the "a" on each changed to "b", "c"? Would that help? I was in quite a hurry to get things done so took the quickest option possible -- my other choice (Governor's State University) had already told me they would only allow three course hours per portfolio (but did, however, encourage me to seek out classes that awarded three hours of credit with different course numbers (to get to nine hours).

Hello - I am by no means an expert, but I can comment that it is not unusual for a student to take multiple internships and usually those internships carry the same course number. The difference I have seen on a very few transcripts is a descriptor that differentiates one form another - but as I said, that was not the norm.
