Greetings: Does anyone know anything about this school? Dr. Bears' book mentions this school, but not in any great detail. Any information would be helpful. - Thanks.
From what I remember, it was founded by the late Ray Chasse, who was also involved with Summit University. ACU operated under a religious exemption in Louisiana. It was in flux after Ray died, and I'm not really sure what's going on with it right now. I seem to remember that Ray's son was involved somehow.
Peter! Nice to see you back! I missed those south of the equator barbs! Seriously, good to see your post.
I believe Peter studied at ACU when it was a legitimate unaccredited school. It is hard, probably impossible, to know which schools will prosper and which will faulter. With the take over by Hoyer it is now a screaming degree mill, but it wasn't always that way. My guess is he is extremely frustrated by that situation.
I'm not sure that ACU ever qualified as a "legitimate unaccredited school." It might not have been quite as awful as it is under Hoyer, but it was certainly never a Cal Coast.
There has never been any indication of such. ACU was never examined by any outside body or agency; it operated in an unregulated environment.
Hi Rich I am certainly no expert on ACU. They were California approved at one point and I thought "arguably" legitimate. On the other hand, ACU was founded by Ray Chase and counts Sheila Danzig as an alumni. In any event, I think any one concerned ould search here and at AED to get a more thorough picture of the school. Thanks for your post.
Hmmm. Thanks for the correction. I remember reading that on AED. My apologies for any misinformation.
