Well, the domain registration details are as follows:

    IOANNIS DOVELOS
    IDRAS 9
    ATHENS, 11362
    US

    Domain Name: DEGREECONSULTANTS-EDU.NET

Now, I am sure there was a Dovelos who lived in Australia and Greece and was on the faculty of St Regis University - coincidence or not?

    Cheers,

    George

    Athenium International University Center

Buried in the Application Form page we find reference to the website of "Athenium International University Center".

Take a look at the roster of fine faculty affiliated with AIUC, keeping in mind the content of the Saint Regis faculty roster:

Dean of Faculty and Dean of Behavioral Sciences. (former SRU prof)
    • Professor Syed Shams H. Azeemi, D.Sc.

    • Professor Georg Reiff, Ph.D.

Dean of Historical Studies. (current SRU prof)
    • Professor Gregory J. Keyes, Ph.D.

    Here's some more domain/IP information.

    Same registration.

John Dovelos' organization lists courses on its web site. Do we find similar connections to other unaccredited degree-granting entities' courses? Why, yes we do! Compare with the non-state-university Breyer State (where Mr. Dovelos is also a prof):

AIUC Doctor of Philosophy in Grief Counseling & Thanatology
GRF 900 Grief, Death and Dying - 6 cr
GRF 920 Grief after Sudden Loss - 6 cr
GRF 940 Clinical Dimensions of Anticipatory Mourning - 6 cr
GRF 980 Treatment of Complicated Mourning - 6 cr
GRF 1000 Children and Grief - 6 cr
GRF 1200 Parental Loss of a Child - 6 cr
GRF 1300 Ethics in Counseling - 6 cr
GRF 1400 Advanced Counseling Theories and Techniques - 6 cr
    GRF 1500 Dissertation - 12 cr

Breyer State Doctor of Philosophy in Grief Counseling:
    1. GRF 900 Grief, Death and Dying 6 hrs
    2. GRF 920 Grief after Sudden Loss 6 hrs
    3. GRF 940 Clinical Dimensions of Anticipatory Mourning 6 hrs
    4. GRF 980 Treatment of Complicated Mourning 6 hrs
    5. GRF 1000 Children and Grief 6 hrs
    6. GRF 1200 Parental Loss of a Child 6 hrs
    7. GRF 1300 Ethics in Counseling 6 hrs
    8. GRF 1400 Advanced Counseling Theories and Techniques 6 hrs
    9. GRF 1500 Dissertation 12 hrs

    Enough comparison of courses.

Who accredits this Dovelosian emporium of whatever-it-is? Their "information on affiliation" page informs us that
(the hypertext link is my insertion). Poking around on the DegreeToday site shows that the site routes email to university-services.net, which is part of the Inland Northwest constellation that includes Saint Regis. But there's more:
None of this is at all surprising.

Could this be an artists conception of an AIUC faculty meeting?

I believe DegreeConsultants is associated with the known degree by experience university www.trinity-college.edu ( Trinity College & university ) and its conglomerates located in Spain as well. They are also associated with Ashington university located in the New Orleans LA area as well.

    OK, here we go.

First, the Application Form page of Degree Consultants International no longer references the website of "Athenium International University Center.” This is not surprisingly since we know John Dovelos is an avid lurker on this forum. Dr. Dovelos used to post here under the names "John S. Dovelos" and "John D" but both member names appear to have been disabled. It is quite possible, however, that he is posting anonymously (it was revealed that he was doing so on another forum).

Second, Athenium International University Center is not new, or at least the Web site and the concept are not new. Athenium’s url (http://www.unicollege-edu.net/) previously belonged to the University College of Advanced Studies, which used to claim that all their “degree programs have been pre-approved in their entirety by three fully accredited universities." According to John Dovelos (who claimed full ownership of UCAS), “The names of the institutions are not disclosed in the UCAS website, and cannot be disclosed in its promotional material either, because of specific contract restrictions and not because we're trying to hide something.” Moreover, UCAS proudly touted the fact that they were a “St. Regis University approved Qualified Independent School (QIS).”

The faculty roster of the University College of Advanced Studies originally included Professor John S. Dovelos, Ph.D., Professor Syed Shams H. Azeemi, Ph.D. (Criminology), MBA, and Professor Leonard van der Walt, Ph.D, MBA, DMS (Postgrad.), CM (Postgrad.), BBA (Econ.), BA (Com.), CRTM. It seems like the Athenium International University Center has added a few more cronies.

All of this and more was previously discussed in this thread.

What would prompt Dr. Dovelos to change the name of his degree mill from University College of Advanced Studies to Athenium International University Center? Is it possible that being informed by Dr. John Bear of the fact that the University College of Advanced Studies would be included in his forthcoming book on degree mills have anything to do with it? Will Athenium International University Center qualify as one of the new “schools” of St. Regis University, now that that entity has decided to return to its original business plan (slightly modified) of franchising degree mills? Stay tuned.

    a little more info

    Hi Gus,

the Application Form page of Degree Consultants International no longer references the website of "Athenium International University Center.

It's hidden in the html as a commented-out line:

    <!-- <input type="hidden" name="redirect" value="http://www.unicollege-edu.net/html/f_confirm.html">-->

Second, Athenium International University Center is not new...

Ah, I forgot that the (previous) name of John Dovelos' whatever-it-is had been "University College of Advanced Studies." That explains the URL for the present site. I had thought that was odd but didn't put it together. (Whoops!)

Will Athenium International University Center qualify as one of the new “schools” of St. Regis University...?

With all those SRU "Featured Professors" on its staff list, how could it not? I notice that SRU has dropped "The internationally renowned scientist, Professor Dr. Hans J. Kempe" from its rolls. Maybe AIUC could catch him on the rebound, and take "indirect costs" off his profits from the GKA system.

John Dovelos is also on the faculty of Breyer State "University".

It never ceases to amaze me that such people are willing to prostitute their reputations for a few dollars.

    it depends on the reputation

I would have thought that, in this case, the appropriate verb would have been "to confirm."

One of the things I've really missed since MIGS bit the dust was watching Sheila Danzig direct changes in her websites after things were posted here on DegreeInfo.

For those not in the know, Sheila is well-known to many as a get-rich-quick queen, self-proclaimed "Queen of the Internet", who was busted by the postal service for mail fraud, and was proprietress of the now-defunct (and never really existent) MIGS, a phony graduate school supposedly associated with a Mexican junior college.

We used to delight in finding contradictions, outright lies, deceptive statements, and other embarrassingly stupid things on Sheila's websites for MIGS. Sheila always claimed that she didn't read DegreeInfo, but like clockwork, within about 8-12 hours max after someone had posted something derogatory appearing on MIGS website, it would magically disappear off of the MIGS website without a trace.

(My favorite part of this was announcing on DegreeInfo that I'd found something derogatory, but not indicating where it was located, forcing them to search the entire site (which was rather large at one point) to find the offending page. )

Now that Sheila has gone back to hawking make-money-selling-crap-by-mailorder stuff, I'm glad to see that St. Regis, Breyer State, and other well-known unwonderfuls are stepping up to fill the shoes emptied by Sheila.

I'm not so sure the shoes are empty; her footprints can be found all over the entiites you mentioned. I think she just switched from stilettos to sneakers. :D

    CCI still

Ah, but Career Consultants International is still on the air: "Earn a Fully Accredited US College Degree from home. No courses. No classes... This is a US Regionally Accredited Degree—the exact same accreditation that degrees issued by Harvard, Yale, and all other major US Universities share..."

The James Monroe site still has a link to CCI: "mailto:[email protected]?subject=more info on JMU deluxe graduation package". (Maybe this is just a relic: the JMU site doesn't seem to be maintained as regularly as the SRU site.)
