    Hey Everybody,

I'm looking to do a Portfolio Assessment through Governor's State University (I was accepted as a student there) to transfer to Excelsior. Since I was in a yearbook staff (both high school and college), I figured some of the communications classes might be the best place to start for credit. Both of my past instructors (for those classes) have told me they still have the proofs and edits from the pages I helped complete (as well as documents I completed from my days as an Advertisement Manager).... both instructors said they'd be willing to help me get everything put together and would then write up a "reference letter" for me -- which they seem to want. I'm clueless as to how to request credit in English Classes through portfolio. :( For those reasons, I may just settle with the B.S.L.S. for now......

    Hi

I think credit for English classes would be impossible with what you outlined. It may be applicable to a journalism or art class though. I would search for info from GSU on how they want the process completed. I would also search various college catalogs for an RA class that would be similiar to what you completed. I hope this is helpful.

Very helpful. Thanks! I was thinking everything I was outlining might be worth quite a few communications and journalism credits (but not any English). I may just try to earn the communications major with the journalism emphasis for my degree.

Also.... I'm wondering if the journalism classes will be considered Liberal Arts classes or Professional?
