    Hi,
I took Principles of physical science..for fun a few weeks ago-I ended up guessing(marked "C")on literally 1/2 of the questions-
    I should've studied a bit more..ugh

Anyway, just received my score and it's a 44, I needed 47 to pass. Would anyone know how many more correct answers I would've needed to pass??
I know the dantes site explains this but I couldn't figure it out.
    -------------------------------------
I took my dsst algebra last week and I guessed on a lot of questions..just trying to get an idea if I passed or not ;)

Btw, I was getting an error 403 for purplemath.com-not sure why.

    THANKS!

I don't know the answer to your question, but from a financial perspective, you may want to crack open a book to improve your odds.

This would make an interesting study.

What is the probability of a student receiving an undergrad degree if the student used mainly testing and portfolio reviews, and 'guessed' the answers on the tests?

Sounds like she`s trying the "Flying Turkey" method:

If you stand on any corner in America with your mouth open, sooner or later a fully cooked turkey will fly into it.

Actually, I did that test "for fun" meaning I didn't really "need" that test-so I didn't study much for it. It would have been fun to pass seeing how it's physics/chemistry and I went into it green.
    -My own little experiment-

As for math..I'm aweful at math and the test was a bit harder than I thought. I DID study for that one.
I guess you guys ace all your tests huh?

Darn, I thought if I wasn't going to get an answer I'd hear something witty or funny...especially from my fellow south bayer.

    Oh well...

    Traci,

Actually, I'm a displaced So. Side Chicagoan. I've only been in the Bay for 17 years.

As long as you didn't NEED the test, I agree, why not. I've done similar things.

Besides, I thought the research idea was slightly humorous. As for the cracking open of the book...... well.....

As for tests, no, I don't ace them. If you read any of my postings from aed, or any of my earlier posts, you will find I am the Test Anxiety poster child. T be relaxed enough for my GMAT, I got schnockered the night before, then took a spinning class the next morning. I was so nervous and gripped the pencil so hard during the first essay, I needed two hands to complete it. I think my score was low because the last couple sentences looked like they were written in Klingon. In my first MBA accounting class I took the test simply because after 20 minutes of trying to get my legs to work I realized I was too paralyzed with fear, so I took the test to have something to do.

Did I leave you with a smile?????

I figure you need to answer about half correct to pass on a test that requires a 50-- nothing scientific about my guess though.
