Has anybody heard about the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education ?
Is it a National Accrediting Body ?
Is it recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education ?
How do you compare it with DETC ?
    Thanks all!:(

Its name, the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training, kind of sums up its mission. It accredits about 250 schools, most of them non-degree vocational institutions. I think that it does accredit a few vocational associates degree programs.

I wouldn't choose these schools if I wanted university credit, but they might offer fine occupational programs.

Yep. It's recognized by both the Department of Education and by CHEA.

It hasn't followed DETC into trying to become a university-level accreditor. Most of the ACCET schools provide classroom instruction.

    Thanks for confirming.

The reason I asked the question : An institute called American Institute for Paralegal Studies ( AIPS) advertises a certificate in Paralegal Studies for the yearly sum of $8,925 books included .

Now this Institute claims it has an Articulation agreement with University of Phoenix ( U of P) which allows graduates of this certificate to be awarded UP TO 20 Upper division SEMESTER CREDITS.

Not bad except the price is a bit steep!

Can this be called " Continuing Education " or is it rather a back door entrance to RA credits ?
