The Middle States Commission has added the following note to Touro College's SAS (Statement of Accreditation Status):

"The need for separate accreditation of TUC and TUI arises from the determination by MSCHE that they now have achieved the status of separately accreditable institutions. As TUC and TUI are located within the geographic jurisdiction of the Senior College Commission on the Western Association of Colleges and Schools (WASC), MSCHE, WASC and TUI/TUC have discussed securing the transfer of the institution's accreditation to WASC, which TUC and TUI indicate is expected to occur before June 2005. Should TUI and TUCOM not achieve WASC accreditation within the specified timeframe, TUI and TUC may apply to MSCHE for an extension of the June 2005 date for securing the transfer of accreditation from MSCHE to WASC upon showing that they are making timely progress towards WASC accreditation."

    Good to know...

    This is good to know.
If TUI can't achieve accreditation from WASC by June 2005, TUI may apply for extension.

Great news! It is apparent that this issue is well coordinated between the accrediting agencies and I am confident that TUI will achieve the accreditation transfer in a timely manner.
