I'm surprised to see that Degree Consultants, the owner and operator of the (formerly) South Dakota version of Trinity College and University, seems to have started offering actual online computer and business courses. I haven't read the whole site, but they seem to be non-credit and vocationally oriented. http://www.internetuniversity.cc/webcours/webpromo/default.htm Clicking on 'questions' at the bottom brings up a blank e-mail addressed to degreeconsultants, and clicking on 'privacy policy' below that takes you to an old Trinity C&U page. Considering that these people have operated Trinity College and University, Ashington University, Academia College and perhaps other 'life-experience universities' that I don't know about for years, it's kind of amazing to think that these might actually be the first real courses that they have ever offered.
They've actually been pitching these for months. They're packaged items available from dozens of vendors on the internet. Trinity probably has nothing to do with them other than skim a percentage off of the fees. They're also offered by Ashington U. and Capitol U. The links from those "schools" used to be redirects to the same page, but I believe they've cleaned that up now. The internetuniversity.cc domain is registered to our old friend Albert Wainright, better known as Brett Loebel. ------------------ Bill Gossett
And checking a Trinity site today I find that the packaged courses are gone, replaced by a lengthy list of what appear to be standard academic courses. With a little search engine work, it turns out that many, if not all, of the course descriptions, right down to the course numbers, bear an amazing resemblance to those in the TESC catalog. GMA could do a half-hour on TC&U and only scratch the surface. ------------------ Bill Gossett
