Hi I'm taking this test in a few weeks. I have Cracking the Clep/the best test prep-general exams. I've now read(amazon) that the Cracking clep book is easier than the new exam. And I've noticed that the best test prep book has areas like, quadratic equations/geometry/trig that aren't even listed on the official clep study guide. Anyone remember if these areas are really covered on the test? Thanks
The most effective way is to look at the test outline at http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/ex_cm.html. That will tell you what is on the exam, so you can ignore what other prep books have if it's not listed specifically. Cheers, Mark
i took the test last month. i manage to score 70%. before the test , i was very apprehensive as i have not touch math for a very long time. after the test , i discovered that i have overstudy as the test is very easy and do not test you very extensively on the topic they mentioned on their syllabus. in my opionion , anyone with a good basic grounding on algebra, arithmetic should be able to do well in this test. just my 2 cents best of luck to you i use the book cracking the clep and the exam format is quite similar.
Do most schools accept general math as meeting their math requirements? I do not think that TESC or COSC or EC do. I think they require algebra. Does anyone know for sure?
I used the General Math for my BS at COSC. I did the BS in Individualized Studies. I am sure a BA/BS with a science or computer concentration would be different.
Yeah, good call I just go by what the collegeboard says.. That Cracking the Clep book makes passing look so easy... thanks
