Hi, all. Does Excelsior offer UL credit for the Drug and Alcohol or Management Information Systems DSST exams? The DSST recommendations are for upper level, but I just talked an admissions counselor at another school who said they only gave LL credit for those exams, and knew of no other school who gave the UL credits. She said it is simply a recommendation by DSST, and not a requirement.

Also, does Excelsior offer credit for military basic training? I was told I could get 6 LL credits just for having grunted my way around Fort Jackson, SC for eight weeks, 25 years ago. That sounds kinda nice :)

I recieved LL credit for the MIS test from COSC. I also got 1 credits for basic training (Fort Jackson, SC 1990).

But according to the AARTS Website -

Recommendations: IN THE LOWER-DIVISION BACCALAUREATE/ASSOCIATE DEGREE CATEGORY, 1 SEMESTER HOUR IN PERSONAL PHYSICAL CONDITIONING, 1 IN OUTDOOR SKILLS PRACTICUM, 1 IN MARKSMANSHIP, AND 1 IN FIRST AID.

  3. From my Excelsior status report, it shows Drug and Alcohol Abuse as lower level Applied Professional and MIS as upper level Business. I'm in the business program, so another major may have differences but I doubt it.

    Cheers,

I'm taking the Liberal Studies option at Excelsior, and my status report lists both of these exams as upper level applied professional credit.
