    Dear all,

I am taking Ashworth MCJ program, but I found that I couldn't contact my lecturer directly, but send to an email for all enquiries, such as studies, shipping, etc.

Is there would be no regular lecturer for each course?

Also, I would like to know what Ashworth Students or graduates will comment this Institution.

And, do you experience an answer directly answered by a lecturer?

Considering Ashworth College/PCDI's size it would be quite difficult to have continuous, individual contact with one lecturer/professor.

You should at least have a point of contact regarding coursework. Shipping, etc. SHOULD be handled by the appropriate departments. I would find it odd if they have a centralized location for every, single inquiry. It seems to me that would definitely create some frustration which seems to be the case in your situation.

One of the drawbacks to schools like Ashworth/PCDI is that they accept (virtually) anyone, at any time. So, there are no class size limits or class structure in terms of a specific start & end date. So, that's where you're likely to encounter problems as far as communicating with a professor.

Ashworth is attractive especially by its low tution fee and textbook inclusion, I couldn't find other institutions will send textbook to students..

However, I have to face the communication problem.

Have you ever heard the phrase "With the good comes the bad?". Well, no school is perfect and even the best ones have their drawbacks. But, that's the case with anything. But, I agree with you. NOONE can argue with Ashworth's price.

I see that it's cheap, but I also see that it is not RA. Can that be a problem? Especially if one wanted to teach later on?

I've looked at Troy's prices, which are OK (about double), but they are RA.

Is it worth holding out for RA?

If you are in the U.S., I doubt I would even consider Ashworth. From the description of its courses it seems roughly High School level with little or no interaction with the class or instructor. There are too many great RA choices in the same price range, perhaps a little more. Remember you have to live with school's name and reputation the rest of your life. Choose the best school posible within your means.

RA MBA in same price range as Ashworth

    Dave,

I'm looking into Ashworth MBA also.

I know it's not an RA school, but I am 54 and my cost (self funded) would be $3,900. US including books. Do you know of a RA MBA program that can be completed in a year and is this cost effective?

I haven't signed on with Ashworth, but I'd like to make a decision by the end of July.

There are literally hundreds of RA DL MBA programs. Do you have a Bachelor's in Business or a great deal of working experience in the area? A MBA traditionally is 2 years of hard fulltime study. It sounds like you are asking for cheap, easy and good. That is a combination I have found impossible to find in University level programs. If you are really seeking cheap and easy Ashworth may well be the best combination. Personally I would look at CSUDH, Univ. of Colarado, and all local programs in your area first. I wish you well.

    Thanks a lot!

I am not living in US, I would use the Master to further study.

You might want to take a look at some foreign schools. University of Southern Queensland's MBA is about 6K. However, you will have to travel to the closest examination centre. Charles Sturt MBA is also about 6K and it is totally online.

AIU is RA (SACS) and they offered an 8 month MBA. They may have changed it to 10 months, but still not bad. AIU is fairly expensive, though.

The DETC MBA programs take at least a year or more to finish. If I recall correctly, DETC has a 12 month minimum. The nationally accredited Ashworth program is a great deal tuition wise, and from what I understand, it can be completed in about a year with dedicated effort.
