    hello-

Well I took the Dantes criminal justice exam today after overstudying- had read postings on this site and others that said the exam was an easy pass- virtually no prep needed and even though I studied I found the exam difficult................ I am not positive I passed ..................and now I feel really dumb- so I was just wondering ... anyone else take this today ... and did you think it was really easy?

I am thinking that because I did study a large amount for the test - (was pretty interested in the subject so read the book and used the I studysmart web program) - I thought I would come out of the test center knowing I did well.... but I came out pretty unsure of myself actually. -I guess what I did on alot of questions was I found myself over reading questions like" in the past 20 years the crime rate in the United states has
    a) increased slightly
    b) decreased dramatically
    c) remained flat
    d) decreased slightly

Looks like an easy question right? well I found myself coming up with an explanation for every answer - and ended up not being able to decide what the answer was- ***sigh***

Hopefully, you went with your first answer/guess.
Though I was not unfamiliar with the subject, it was one of four DANTES exams I took in one day with no study.I managed to get a 59.
Everything that has been said in this forum, about the DANTES CJ exam, is true. Don't you wish every testing center could have a Scantron, so you could know your results right away?

  4. Been there, done that myself. I wasn't sure of my status when I walked out but ended up with a 62 for CJ.

The trick I found for this exam is to read the questions thoroughly and look for the part of the question that can lead you to the answer. For example, if it said "violent crime", this may lead you to select another response than just "crime". Those details are important!

I'd relax - you're more than likely fine...and in a few weeks you'll know for sure!

    Cheers,
    Mark
