I am going o ramble a bit, give some information and ask for suggestions. I am in Iraq at present where there is no Military Education Center, so unless anybody know of any way to get tests via online testing, I am basically SOL on CLEP, DANTES, and ECE exams. Here is my current status: AARTS Transcripts 23 Credits Previous College 6 Credits MCSE 10 Credits (I think From Excelsior) Distance Learning From Adams State College 6 Credits (In Process) 12 Week OL Course from TESC Starts Aug 1 3 Credits ACE Trancscipts from Smartforce CBT 12 Credits Total Credits (un-official) --------- 60 Credits If anybody know how many credits Excelsior gives for an MCSE Certification Please let me know, I think I remeber using thier credit calculator at one point and itgave me 10. But that was a few months ago. Problem, I need 90 hours by December. OCS Classes begin at Ft. Rucker, hence not in Iraq. I cannot reasonably count the credits from Adams State and TESC yet as they are 12 week and 16 week courses respectfully. Once I make it state side the testing options will become avaliable to me. In the absence of CLEP, DANTES, and ECE testing, what are the best options for me to obtain at least 30 hours in 5 months? I apologize for the rambles, but any viable options would be appreciated. Linuxman I see that you got the ACE approved credits through the Smartforce program. Go to this link: http://www.skillsoft.com/partners/academic.asp Amercian Military University Strayer University U. of Phoenix Northcentral Technical College The above are partners with Smartforce and will accept on the average 10 Smartforce "clock hours" for one credit. Check each college out. Find the one with the most bang for your buck. Write to the school that you select and explain your situation. A quick scan showed that you can accrue 30 credits through Strayer and Northcentral Techincial College. Go on the AKO discussion boards. I recall reading a post that a soldier was able to submit his Smartforce records directly to ACE. For 45 dollars, he received an ACE approved document, in which he used at TESC. I hope this helps.
I'm doing my degree through Charter Oak, and I believe they use Excelsior's list to award credit for technical certifications. On my official evaluation, they gave me 12 credits for my MCSE. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I was certified on Windows NT 4.0. -=Steve=-
Re: Re: Thoughts, Rambles, and request for suggetions 10-12 sounds correct - depending on your MCSE electives.
