I have a question regardin approved schools power to grant degrees. In California, i understand schools require approval in order to offer and grant a new degree program/course. I am correct? is the case in Wyoming? or once approved Wyoming institutions may grant the degrees the want or probably is a fast easy and cheap process? thanks
Wyoming doesn't have any approval process for schools. They have a few weak laws but even those are apparently not very well enforced.
Wyoming has a rule that the schools cannot say that they are approved by Wyoming. They are licenced. Similar to a business license.
That means licensed Wyoming schools may offer any degree they want once they are licensed? no need to ask the state or even notify them?
Yes, which is why so many unaccredited schools supposedly operate from there even if it is only a mail forwarding address. Get a business license and you too can be a uni and give your self that degree you have wanted, for less cost also.
http://www.k12.wy.us/ao/f/programs/psl/degree.html That is the link to the approved and degree granting institutions in Wyoming i see no RA schools on the list. There are not RA schools at WY? all these schools are considered millish by the experts?
The list doesn't have ALL the universities in Wyoming -- e.g. there is the University of Wyoming and -- ah... well... at least they've got UW. Great school -- especially when you consider the population base. I think the University of Phoenix is fixin' to open in Cheyenne.
Univeristy of Wyoming is regionally accredited, and not state licensed. These (http://www.k12.wy.us/ao/f/programs/psl/degree.html) are all private colleges operating(sic) in Wyoming. Are the all millish, IMO no, as Wyoming Technical Institute and it's accreditor (Accreditation Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology) are recognized by Dept of Ed (US) and CHEA. As to the rest.....?
