Two. First, I seriously considered Fielding when selecting a DL Ph.D. program. I interviewed some of their staff telephonically and met with one of their faculty members for an extended discussion. I came away very impressed on all counts. Fielding seemed to have a real community going.

Second, Fielding is currently holding one of its quarterly sessions in town. I stumbled across it while teaching at another event in the same venue. This gave me a chance to talk with some of their staff and students. I remain impressed.

Fielding offers an opportunity to take a structured doctoral program and shape how you will meet its requirements. Well-respected, it has avoided the difficulties we've discussed regarding Union.

    Beware

Fielding is a pretty good school and it is respected by those in the field of Psych and OD/O Mgt. You might want to apply early because I know someone who did not get in on time...they tend to have a full applicant list pretty early!

    Regards & Good Luck!

    APA Accreditation

As I'm sure you're aware Fielding is the sole DL school out there that is APA accredited. That's a plus if you're planning on doing clinical psychology.
Their focus is psychodynamic so if you're a Maslow, et al fan than you may want to look at Saybrook. If you're considering Organization Fielding has an excellent fusion masters in OD and OM. I was accepted into the $26,000 MA program in OM however I decided to save some $$ and do my masters at a less expensive state school.

That being said Fielding is still pretty reasonable. I looked at a limited residency Management program at RPI Hartford that tipped the scales at over $38K. The people that I dealt with at Fielding from professors to staff were all top shelf and extremely helpful. I know two of the school's PhD graduates and am impressed by both. All in all I don't think that you can get hurt with this school. In addition, their doc is articulated with their masters so if you do both there, you end up with something of a bargain.

    Thumbs UP

Fielding is a great (albeit expensive) program. In the area of APA accredidation - that is paramount for licensure in MANY states. My brother went there for his PhD in Psych and I have experience in their neuropsych specialization program.

    Good luck!!!
