Because there are so many accreding agencies that are bogus, I was wondering if anyone has heard of ODLQC, Open and Distance Learning Quality Council. I looked them up on the Internet and they seem pretty reputable and the schools that I am interested in are listed there as well. Any feedback??

Thanks in advance for any help.

The ODLQC, based in the UK, is indeed a credible and reputable agency. As the name implies, it accredits schools which offer distance learning programs, although many of the schools accredited by ODLQC also offer residential studies.

I believe that while they are entirely legitimate, their accreditation concentrates more on delivery methodology and student support than it does on academic content.

Most of the schools that they accredit seem to be in the sub-university vocational education sector. In the case of universities, they make clear that ODLQC accreditation does not substitute for a normal charter or the equivalent non-UK academic approval process.
