Cardean and UNext issues aside, does anyone know if the degrees from Ellis College of NYIT are conferred from "Ellis College" or "NYIT" (or "Ellis College of NYIT"). If the latter, I would have a bit more faith in this program, as it would be conferred from an accredited institution - if the former, well .... Thanks in advance!
Interestingly enough: On the official Ellis College site (ellis.nyit.edu), they make no mention of their accreditation, other than the statement on the home page that they offer "accredited degree programs". After some searching on Google, I found lots of references to statements like "Ellis College is part of NYIT, an accredited blah blah". On this site: http://www.online-mba-programs.net/ellis.html I found this: There are obviously big differences between DETC and RA accreditation ... Not sure what the current accreditation is ... although I plan on calling them tomorrow to find out.
http://www.classesusa.com/featuredschools/ellis/ "Ellis College is an academic division of NYIT, which is accredited by Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools" Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools 3624 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104 Phone 215-662-5606 www.msache.org
Right, that tells me that they are a "division" of an accredited institution - I already knew that, mate. Does that mean that by-proxy, a degree from Ellis is automatically accredited?
http://ellis.nyit.edu/ellis/presskit_background.htm Last sentence of the 2nd paragraph: "NYIT faculty teach Ellis College courses and graduates receive NYIT degrees." There is a little something on their website afterall ol' chum. Alas, a resolution! Your pal,
Interesting, this is clearly the Cardean information under the guise of Ellis. Ellis is not accredited by DETC. Mary
Someone did a careless search-and-replace when they decided to market the Cardean program as Ellis College of NYIT. Heh.
That would be my guess too. It is, of course, a violation of the business standards so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for it to be changed now that it has been brought to their attention. Mary
