From BA in 4 Weeks Business degree guide fourth year:-

"By the time I was due to take this exam I'd gotten a bit complacent. I'd bought a book on strategic planning for 20 bucks that I thought would fill the bill. I put it on my book shelf until five days before the exam, but when I finally had a good look at it, it was clear it was not adequate to the task. I found another book at the book store but agonized for two days about stumping up the extortionate asking price of $75. Eventually, I gave in and bought the book, but by that time, had only three days left before the test was due to be taken.

The book was the Addison Wesley publication,, Strategic Management and Business Policy, by Wheelen and Hunger. This was enough to get me through the exam in less than three days. I scored a "B". Not great, but good enough under the circumstances. I had a two and a half hour drive to the test center and decided to tape my notes so that I could listen to them on the way there. "

Note that contrary to what has been suggested elsewhere, you cannot write any answer so long as you justify it. This is not an English Composition exam nor an excuse for an unfocused free-flowing stream-of-consciousness riff. It is a Business degree capstone exam that provides the candidate the opportunity to demonstrate that (s)he understands and can synthesize, disparate subject elements comprising Business core competencies, and apply them, to produce a coherent plan or other solution, as required.

When do plan to take the exam?
According to the new prosepctus Excelsior is phasing out the Business Policy and Strategy exam and, it seems, it will no longer be available after September 30, 2004.

  5. Looks like it will be replaced by a course for those who can't take it before Sept 30th.

    Cheers,

    Replaced?

Replaced? Or just dropped? Do you happen to know what will replace it? I know that last year they eliminated the Prod Operations Mgt test, bummer...
    Thanks
