    Hi,

Is Upper Iowa University regionally accredited? What is your opinion of them?

    Thanks,

Yes, they are by the North Central Assoc.

When I started, they just got on DL wagon, so was kind of chaos going on, but I manage to finish it MBA in accounting, I graduated 2003. The school advisor is a very good person, this assuming if still there, for the Online programs. Other than that in a scale of 5, I give the school a 3 1/2.

    To expand on UIU

I have a co-worker that graduated back in 01 or 02 and he has enjoyed a lot of success/utility with his UIU Masters. In fact, the personnel director here held his academic credential from UIU in high regard when qualifying him for the job...which he got at a higher grade.

But remember, like anything else, you have to shop around and find what's good for you and your budget, career goals, time-management needs, etc. etc.

    Good Luck

I have "attended" UIU for two years now, to include attending a summer course at their main campus. I have four courses left until I finish my BS in accounting and I have really enjoyed the course structure, the faculty, and the instructors. I have no problem recommending Upper Iowa.

    Further Information...

No problem, glad that I can be of advice....believe me, I am a thousand percent ahead of the game due to advice that I have received from this forum. The only thing I "We" ask is that if you have something share, experience, lesson learned, bad experience...especially if you can save one of your peers from losing time, money, or credibility (heartache) then share!

I spoke with my collegue that has the UIU diploma. I found out that UIU went all out when they created their program! They made note of very highly regarded programs such as Duke Univ. when they were trying to get their program off the ground. He went further to add that the rigor of the program is there...and he was solicited by a lot of companies when he was in the program. Finally, he says that there is no mention that he took any part of his program via DL.

    Good Luck!

    mdg1775,

Sounds like Upper Iowa University is a very good university. I'm thinking about earning a second bachelor's degree through them (after I earn my first through another university.)

Currently I have an A.A.S. degree in Criminal Justice and am a student at Franklin University in Ohio. I am taking on-line classes through them and they are a wonderful university. Everyone is very helpful and courteous there and the one class that I am taking through them right now is great.

Thanks again for all your help!

    Sara
