    Hey,

Just wanted to ask if anybody around here had taken the Praxis II? I'm exempt from needing to take the Praxis I because my SAT scores were above 1000. I'm wanting to take the Praxis II for Early Childhood Education. Are any study materials needed, or is most of the exam considered "common sense", as some have said? I'm taking a class this fall through the Virtual Campus at FHSU called "Classroom Management", plus that (along with the BYU Education courses I have taken and completed) will fit into my degree plan at Excelsior.

I'm still baffled about what to do.....most of the stuff I have will fit best into the Liberal Studies degree (and it's a proven fact that a Liberal Studies degree certainly isn't useless). The English major would be nice....and I'm starting on some portfolio assessment's through Governor's State University that will complete my degree (if awarded the credits I'm requesting). Just out of curiosity -- when one was requesting credits along the literature and mathematics line, would a chronological history of the time period of the class you are requesting credit for work? And would equations for the math classes you are requesting credit for work?

P.S. I really do hope the questions I ask aren't becoming irritating to any of you. I truly do find this website as a great source of help while trying to earn my Bachelor's Degree. You are all the best help anybody could ask for with this stuff....

    Cade:

My wife took the Praxis II for Elem. Edu. and did not study at all and she did fine. Of course, she did have several courses under her belt in Elem. Edu. from Liberty and East Carolina University. It all depends on the test taker. However, I did buy her a practice book (which she did not use) and I answered some of the practice questions. I got them all right and I have a business background.

I think most of it is common sense. Just my opinion though.
