Does anyone know of a good British university that offers a Diploma of Laws by distance education to international students?

"Diploma of Laws"? You mean a postgraduate diploma (PgDl)? Or the "first year of an LL.B." type diploma?

University of London offers the latter Diploma, but it isn't really D/L. You have to study at a residentail institution.

I am referring to the first year of the LL.B. diploma. I know the ILEX Tutorial Colleges offer individual subject diplomas but that is all I can seem to find.

    Check out www.holborncollege.ac.uk

They provide distance learning services for the University of Huddersfield. Completion of first year LLB courses at Huddersfield will enable you to apply for a "Certificate of Higher Education in Law". Also on the Holdborn College site I saw a reference to a diploma in law but I don't know much about that.

Holborn used to be the DL provider for Wolverhampton, but from what I understand they (Wolverhampton) are no longer accepting DL students.

Hope this helps. You might also consider asking this question on the message board at www.spr-consilio.com, which usually seems to be a good resource for anything related to UK legal education.

I wonder what would happen if you signed up for the London D/L LL.B. and passed the four intermediate subjects. Maybe they would grant you the diploma? Even if they refused, you would be 2/3 of the way to completing a good LL.B.
