    Hello Everyone,

I just received a reply back from TSU (Troy State University) academic adivsor.

    "Mr. Gorman,

I recommend that you do not take any more CLEP/DANTES exams until the official transcripts that you have sent are officially evaluated. The bachelors requires 60 semester hours of "traditional " credit. This represents courses taken at 2 or 4 year colleges. Your military credit is "non-traditional"

Once I receive the copy of your official evaluation I will send your official degree plan in which will address what you can still transfer in.

Please contact me if you have additional questions or concerns."

They required me to take 60 credits as traditional school; which means it has to be from college. DANTES/CLEP as well as Military training are considering as non-traditional.

Is that possible for me to take DANTES/CLEP exams to be evaluated by one of th BIG THREE, and then transfer to TSU? Does THE BIG THREE credis are considering as tradional college, or non-traditional college? Acording my evaluation at TSU that traditional or residency doesn't require on actual campus.

    Thank you very much.

    TESC

Hello, I just checked my husbands TESC transcript. CLEPs are noted as such. FEMA EMI credits are converted to TESC course numbers so it may be worth the transcript fee for you. I believe the fee will go up 7/1/04. Hille

    Hille,

Thank you very much for your posted reply. I just received a new message from the Academic Advisor that any college credit that is accredited by Regional is cosidering as "TRADITIONAL". You just let me know that Thomas Edison State College coverts DANTES/CLEP into their curriculum, and how as their own courses. Does anybody know Excelsior College, and Charter Oaks State College do the same way...or it shows the exactly from CLEP or DANTES?

I think Excelsior College transcripts how CLEP and DANTES, but I am not sure.

Thank very much for the information....

    Hi Tekman

Either you got some erronious information or TSU's policy has changed. When I was checking out their BS in CS they specifically said they counted CLEP credit as if it came from a senior university. At that point the only difficult hurdle was that 1/2 credits had to come from a senior university. Before worry too much about it, you may want to check with other TSU students here. Good luck.

With respect to transcripts and overt description of test credit origin, Excelsior are not backward at coming forward.
