They ain't accredited by RA, TRACS, DETC, or any other recognized agency and state this in the section under Accreditation.....why would anyone need any experience with them?

    Howard?????

I am fully aware of their non-accreditation status.

    Whitefield is Reformed : )

Most Reformed Seminaries are so expensive that I can not afford them and Whitefield is very reasonable

If I receive a MDiv from Whitefield, Knox Theological Seminary, which has ATS accreditation, will let me apply toward the Dmin program.

    Sorry Dude,
Didn't mean to insult you.........I couldn't find any fees or tuition on Whitefield's site. Nor could I find any explanation of the programs except as according to the Westminister Confession of Faith......hate to have to dig that out. We Cumberland Presbyterians are Reformed also----at least to an extent. Is Knox RA as well as ATS? And, will Know allow anyone with a MDiv from Whitefield to enter their DMin program. If so, may be a nice move for those who can handle Whitefield's fundamental approach to theology. Personally, I don't think I could.

Most Reformed seminaries aren't a bad joke in the legitimacy department, either. Whitfield is. If you can't afford something stateside, sit ye doon on mon's chief end and fly on little cyberwings to South Africa: real schools, real GAAP equivalent, real Calvinists, real nuanced confessional theology not just American right-wing political triumphalism, AND real cheap.

No, it's not, but yes, you can. SATS is generic evangelical, not strictly Reformed, and is very congenial and friendly. If you have very little academic background, they might well be a less tough place to start than the universities, since they have several programs designed for pastors whose access to higher education has been limited. I do emphasize that their standard programs are academically quite good, however.

Check with the historically Afrikaner universities: Stellenbosch (will require some residence for sure; Cory Seibel is a student at Maties), Pretoria, Free State, North West (the old Potchefstroom Uni is merging with this university). Zululand has some distinguished Reformed scholars (Loubser, Oosthuizen ret.)--Bill Grover is doing a doc with Zululand and can give you detailed information. Then there's the granddaddy of us all, UNISA. They are huge and sometimes too bureaucratic. Charles Fout is working on a degree with them and is quite happy. How much Reformed content is available, I do not know.

There may also be some Australian options (pricier than SA, cheaper than US), but for quality in theological programme, I don't think you can beat the South Africans--certainly not at the price. Check the university websites: I believe all that I have listed offer at least some DL.

ny of these will give you a solider institution than Whitfield with a credential you can be proud of and will never have to explain or explain away. Best wishes to you. Janko

As I recall among the six or so schools Unizul accredits one is stated to be "Reformed." You can access the Unizul webpage, go to Faculty of Religion, and then to Accredited Instutions.

As to whether a degree from a school Unizul accredits would be acceptable to a USA denomination or school I don't know. I think it should, though, since Unizul itself accepts grads from these into the University's higher degree programs.

    Uncle Janko,

What is real cheap in American dollars?

Do you have a link to their website or to the MA, MDiv degree page?

    Thanks,

Are you guys familiar with any other overseas schools that offer an MA or MDiv that is inexpensive?

If they were Reformed theologically it would be a huge plus : )

    Thanks,

Go look at a currency exchange website to see the current rand/dollar conversion, as well as the current Aus$/US$ conversion. Simple. Then check the university websites. Also simple. You'll see.

Yeah, I could do it for you, but I'm not gonna. You'll have a lot more fun in DL if you whip your search engine into submission, as did Balaam his ass. (It'll tell you stuff, too.)
