I'm looking for a RA Master's degree that will take a large number of transfer credits or, to put another way, grant a large number of credits based on ACE recommendations for military education credits. As I previously posted, The ACE " http://www.militaryguides.acenet.edu/ " recommends: "In the graduate degree category, 6 semester hours in military history and evolution of strategic thought, 3 in regional studies, 6 in defense resource management, and 12 in defense policy/national and international security" for completion of the DL Air War College (course AF-1511-0011). However, I cannot find an RA graduate school that will actually apply anywher near these 27 units toward a degree, which makes them pretty much useless. This is especially gauling because those who complete the Resident Air War College are awarded a Master's degree by that instituation.
Troy State will award credits for this school. Call them and see which degree it will count towards. They have a chart with the PME courses and credit allowance in their catalog but it would be more beneficial to call directly. You may want to call the Montogmery Campus since they are used to dealing with the various schools at Maxwell AFB. I believe 12 credits is max. Alternatively Mountain State University may let you roll these into their Masters in Interdisciplinary studies. 25 credits can be self-designed (but approved by the school) Good Luck
Warguns, Excelsior has a master of arts program that will allow up to 15 units of transfer credit. That is the most that I have seen thus far. Try this link: https://www.excelsior.edu/portal/page?_pageid=57,45426&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL Tony Pina Faculty, Cal State U. San Bernardino
Thank for the responses on my query regarding a Master's degree that would take a large number of ACE approved units from an advanced military dl program, in my case the USAF "Air Command and Staff College". The ACE recommends that ACSC is equivalent to 27 graduate units and I was searching for an accredited institution that would take them all. The best I could find was Mountain State University "http://www.mountainstate.edu/" which will take 25. It states: The Interdisciplinary Program is self designed and begins with the design of your Methodology, or proposed degree plan. The program has three phases; Methodology (3 hours), Content (25 hours), and Perspective (8 hours) If you include your courses in your Methodology and they are approved to be transferred in, then you could potentially transfer in up to the full 25 hours. There is a $100 per credit evaluation/transfer fee. Contact person: Christy A.
