Here's a list of the new DETC applicants with links and some comments added by me.

    Abraham Lincoln University- LA CA

This seems to me to be a respectable mid-range CA approved school, emphasizing law. It gets as little discussion here on Degreeinfo as CCU gets too much. Their bar pass rates aren't as good as the "big three" (NWCal, Taft and Oakbrook), but still decent compared to the competition.

AHS Institute- Association for Hebraic Studies, Suffern NY

This thing is special because it seems to have some kind of articulation agreement with Charter Oak State College, allowing students to take courses from AHS for credit towards an RA associates or bachelors degree awarded by COSC. They offer some interesting courses, including what seems to me to be an unequaled lineup of DL courses on Talmud. See (here).

American College of IT- St. Joseph MO

I'm unfamiliar with it. It doesn't seem to offer degrees.

    Anaheim University- Newport Beach CA

I don't follow this one. I think that it recently changed its name from something else. Something about it makes me uneasy.

At Home Professions- Ft. Collins CO

    Doesn't seem to offer degrees.

    Blackstone Career Institute- Emmaus PA

This one is interesting. It's a DL vocational school teaching legal assisting and medical office careers. It claims to be the oldest continuously operating DL school in the US, dating back to 1890. I like its name, it reminds me of the time when men all wore hats.

California Coast University- Sta. Ana CA

Everything that can possibly be said about this one has already been said, then multiplied by ten.

    Central State University, Riverside CA

Despite its name, it isn't a state university and it isn't CSU Riverside. I notice that its website is still advertising doctoral degrees, so I wonder how serious its DETC application really is.

Century University seems to have fallen off the most recent list of applicants entirely.

    Deakin University- Australia

This is an Australian state university, fully 'GAAP' etc. I guess that the Australians think that getting their schools DETC accredited will make it easier for their American students to tap into tuition-reimbursement programs. Personally, I think that this is a good sign, since it indicates that the Australians may be interested in entering the American DL market more aggressively. They have a lot to offer us, but so far they have concentrated almost exclusively on Asia.

International Sports Sciences Association, Santa Barbara Ca.

They offer certificate programs for personal trainers.

    Lansbridge University, Frederickton NB

This is a new Canadian start-up that, I believe, has the equivalent of accreditation in New Brunswick.

    Monash University- Australia

    See my Deakin comments.

    Rescue College- Kansas City MO

This place offers a bachelors in rescue ministry to prepare staff for ministering to urban street people. Seems like a worthy endeavor.

Southern California University for Professional Studies, Santa Ana, CA

A back-in-the-pack CA-approved school. Nothing impressive, but it probably doesn't deserve the bashing it periodically receives on Degreeinfo.

    Southern Queensland University, Australia

    See my Deakin comments.

    University of New England, Australia

    See my Deakin comments.

University of Philosophical Research, Los Angeles, CA

I can't help it, I like this one. If you are interested in esotericism, this is a reasonably credible option. They are associated with LA's Philosophical Research Library, see (here), a fascinating specialist library of more than 20K volumes on the Western occult tradition, including several rare 15'th and 16'th century works. If you need to consult a necronomicon fast, try here.

    Yorktown University, Dolores, CO

If you feel like LA's University of Philosophical Research has turned you into a toad, recover with Colorado's Yorktown University. These guys promise to put the Western civilization back into education, and somehow I bet that the occult tradition isn't what they had in mind. They seem more interested in laissez-faire economics.

I wonder if any other controversial school could've got DETC approval? Berne, anyone?

    Greetings,

I just have a question about Southern California University for Professional Studies. Are they apart of Southern California University of Health Sciences?

    Thanks
