Intersting topic, though the criticism is not new. I think, however, that this issue pertains not exclusively to the MBA. Rather, it's about our current state of education. If professions like lawyers and doctors wouldn't require a special license to practise their profession, the development would be much the same as with the MBA; i.e. there would be highly successful lawyers and doctors who never had a formal education and there would be washouts with prestigious degrees.
