Anyone aware of any GOOD forums concerning non-distance education, in particular for adults attempting college for the first time? Thanks.
Well, I personally think this is the best forum for both distance and non-traditional education available. I personally completed my Associate's & Bachelor's degrees through very non-traditional (not distance) means (life experience, CLEP/DANTES exams, etc.), and my Master's, while still 100% residential, was done totally off-campus. I did all three degrees while in my late 20's, early 30's (I'm 35 now), and I hope to complete my Ph.D. by age 45. This forum is very supportive and helpful. Because you're not interested in a "true" distance program doesn't matter. Post whatever questions you might have, and I'm certain that you'll get much useful advice. Bruce
It doesn't appear to be a matter of "true" distance programs. It appears that he is only interested in a traditional, on-campus program (which is fine). Tom Nixon
The About Adult and Continuing Education site has good articles and resources for adults starting or going back to college: http://adulted.about.com/ and a fairly active forum: http://forums.about.com/ab-adulted/start (You can read messages as a guest; log in to reply to or post messages.) ------------------ Kristin Evenson Hirst DistanceLearn.About.com
