One of the distance learning schools that I'm looking at as a possibility to pursue a Master's in Bible and Ministry requires that students take the GRE exam, even though no minimum score is required. It will not affect one's admission in ANY way whatsoever. But there is no way around taking it. From your experience, is this fairly common, especially for Master's in religious studies? It seems like a huge waste of my time and my money to take an exam that is completely irrelevant as far as admission to the program is concerned -- or the content of the program, for that matter. Opinions, anyone??? mhl
Maybe they use the GRE for a "funneling" purpose (ie score low and need to take a remedial reading/writing class). Who knows - but if it is a good school for you - the cost is worth it. Great luck! peACE, ACE
