If I am interested in working in Canada and the US after getting my MBA, would it be in my best interest to get my MBA from a school in the US or UK?

My personal opinion is that for the US a US degree would be best.

As for Canada, this is a question that I have pondered quite a bit myself. I guess the conclusion that I'm reaching is that it depends greatly on the employer. Besides that I would also say that name recognition of the school might matter and even where in the US where the school is located.

For instance, if you were talking about getting a University of London MBA it would probably be better received than Baker College. On the other hand, Warwick is highly regarded but has no instant name recognition in Canada.

This is a bit convoluted but I hope it helps. Personally, I wish someone had the time to do a survey of Canadian HR people on this subject. I for one would love to know the results.

Thanks for your help. I have nerowed it down to two schools, University of Leicester in UK and University of North Alabama in US.

I am not sure if I am right about this, but I think that most people working in HR at Canadian companies would feel more safe with a US degree then with a UK one.
