I don't see listings of salaries for university professors - does anyone know where I can find one? I know it varies but I wanted a general idea.

It basically depends on the state and the institution

I'd search the AACSB site www.aacsb.edu. They do periodic salary surveys. For IS faculty, go to www.isworld.org - they have a survey.

As I recall, some business areas, such as accounting, have starting salaries over $100,000. There are lots of reasons for differences - location and institutional stature are major points.

You can figure that DL grads are likely to earn somewhat less. Also, for industry I'll think you'll have a hard time finding data. I suspect that many firms don't particularly value doctoral level education that much.

    Regards - Andy

    go to:

    www.ed.gov

    keyword search on: professor salaries

    or

    http://nces.ed.gov/

you can also do a search on this forum, I think I posted a link that included regional salaries for different types and locations.

I also use monster.com, search for faculty or adjunct or other keywords and you will find various offerings and

www.salary.com has some functions that provide salary analysis by location and type of job.

Several industry folks (I'm government) that I deal with have PhDs and do well, one of them is in Industrial Engineering, another is in Electrical engineering, and another is in Psychology (organizational). All are in six figures.

    Hope this info helps.

It depends on location and experience, however, it's generally between 45k and 80k for assistant professors. Associate professors and full professors make more. Take a look here.
