Hello, I have been looking at taking Kaplan's Criminal Justice Associate degree program. I want to hear from past students that have taken courses through Kaplan and hear their views and opinions on Kaplan. I have already heard a lot of info on their marketing techniques and their telephone soliciting so now info is needed there.. Thank you for your time!
I would bump this thread but its already at the top, I need some info people! can anyone help? thanks
Try a search on Kaplan. There are a few things there. You may not hear too much more because of the bank holiday weekend, but I'm sure someone on here can provide more info. Kaplan seems expensive from what I have read. I would look at other options before I shelled out the cash.
I have searched the site but I haven't found any post that helped me in my decision.. It is spendy, can anyone tell me more about Kaplan or recommend anouther school that offers a good accredited program in CJ (Associate degree prorams). Iam looking for DL only programs that are affordable and have only the best accredidation, I might want to transfer the credits someday!
Excelsior College's DistanceLearn Database will lead you to most of the RA schools offering courses or programs in CJ. Excelsior offers CJ degrees but not CJ courses. Also, Bruce, the Administrator, has more than once offered a list of schools offering CJ by distance so that info is here buried somewhere.
I still haven't seen or heard from anyone that has taken a number of courses or earned their degree from Kaplan.. Anyone out there????
I believe Taylor University used to offer an AA in Criminal Justice. They now call it Justice Administration (with concentrations in either ministry or public policy). Does this work for you? They are RA with tuition of $185 per hour. Whether you choose Taylor, Kaplan, or some other school, I would strongly urge you to take as many classes as you can from LSU first. LSU is also RA and their tuition is only $67 per hour!!! You should be able to transfer at least 15 hours into a degree program elsewhere, so save yourself some cash and knock out 5 classes at LSU first. Pug
Hi Buzz There are a lot of CJ options that have been discussed extensively here. I would first examine those very closely. If Kaplan still seems like the best option I would seek the advice of Bruce or one of the other CJ professionals here.
Thanks alot for the advice so far I really appreciate! If anyone else feels like ringing in on this feel free. Thanks alot
kaplan I'm currently enrolled at Kaplan. My admission advisor did seem a little pushy, but it was only because I wanted to enroll for the upcoming semester, which was a few weeks away. I love taking classes at Kaplan. The instructors are great, and you know exactly which classes you need to take. The classes are outlined so there are no surprises. I hope this helps. p.s. they are a little pricey, but I figure all online colleges are. Take care-tanya
