Greetings all. I am a PhD student and Northcentral University (AZ not MN) and have seen some intersting changes go on over time. First off, I noticed that NCU changed its slogan from "We put peoiple first in distance learning" to "The better way to earn a degree." Then Dr. Hecht announced that the University headquarters will be moving to a new facility that will make up 45 Acres of land in Prescott! 45 Acres is Huge! I am wondering what the university is planning? Also they are adding a new bunch of programs in Education and Counseling, and are going for Professional accredidations, and liscensures.

    Here's the link: http://www.ncu.edu/message_from_the_president.asp

It may be that the school is planning to open a real, face to face campus (which I think would be wonderful) and could alter the school all together.

Has anyone else heard of this new info, or have any Opinions?

It seems that NCU has continued to head in the right direction. I will not be surprised to hear in the near future that they have either added more programs or some residential curricula.

I recently received some information from NCU regarding their education programs. Pending approval from their regional accreditor, they will be offering the MEd and DEd programs in late July or early August. This is good news because I am looking for an MEd program entirely by DL. :)

This is indeed good news, not only for those seeking a Master's in Education, but also for those seeking a doctorate in mortuary science (I wonder how they do that via DL). Now, if only they were to offer a doctorate in education (EdD)... :D

Which is interesting. It would be impossible to complete a B.S. degree in mortuary science. The lab work and embalming classes need to be done on site. That is, unless someone can create the first virtual corpse.:D :D

I think you're right Geno. What do you think *calulating land, buildings, new degree programs, salary increases* about a 25% increase ?

Did I hear someone say "cash cow" ?

And then there are those cadaverous students... :D

    MEd via DL

Roy there are many DL master's in education programs that are much cheaper than $475. a semester unit. Unless money is no object.
