*My understanding was that the 27 upper-level credits were all part of the concentration requirements (12 of which are Intermediate and 15 of which are upper-level). Is this correct? Or, are more upper-level credits needed outside of the 27 concentration requirements? Am I mistaken?

*Also, can I use both Psychology and Business credits as part of my Individualized Studies....or must I stay in the business area?

You are correct 12 and 15 intermediate and UL respectively.
Individual studies must be approved via the concentration essay and your advisor. They will hold you to the 12 and 15 rule along with making you justify the logic of the credits that you propose for your concentration. Make sure that you work very closely with your advisor before taking the exams to ensure that they will be accepted and fit in to your overall plan. good luck.

PS> I would be happy to share my plan and essay with you if you are interested. My essay is in, but I have not heard on approval yet. give me a PM with Email address and I'll send if you want.

    Hi Cade:

If you haven't already take a look at some of the COSC concentration forms on this page: http://www.cosc.edu/Forms/concentration.cfm
I think that they show what it is that COSC requires from its graduates in the way of concentration requirements.

The Individualized Studies option is very flexible and will certainly allow you to combine business and psychology together. I echo the fact that you should work closely with your adviser when putting the concentration together.

Other than the concentration (or as part of it) COSC requires that you have credits spread across:

    Aesthetic Dimensions
    Citizenship - Ethical Dimensions
English - Written Communication (Your CLEP Eng Comp w/essay)
    Global Society
    Historical Development
    Inter-Relationship to Groups
    Quantitative and Analytic
    Research
    Scientific Process
    Western Civilization

The route to the distribution of these credits isn't difficult and chances are you already have most based on what you posted. I just finished up at COSC and would be glad to give you an assist by phone or email also. The most important thing is to start working with your adviser and be calm.

That was Zen and this is Tao!

On my official eval from COSC, it says that you have to have 30 credits beyond two years.
I am assuming that the 27 hrs in your concentration plus another 3 hrs would satisfiy this requirement.Your adviser can tell you for sure.
    Sorry if I confused you.
