I need a calculus credit by the end of the summer. Georgia Tech requires it for their MBA program.

I was thinking about taking the Ohio University test because it looks a lot easier than the CLEP test (no integrals, etc).

    Anyone taken it?

    Speedkills20,

Calculus is just another name for integrals, I mean the fundamental idea behind calculus is diferentiation and integration. I am not familiar with those tests you mention but I find it quite difficult to believe you can find calculus tests without integration.

There is a very traditional and famous calculus book by Thomas Finney that will help you prepare any test in calculus from easy to concepts to more difficult ones and includes tons of exercises and problems which IMHO is the KEY to mathematics learning.

    Good luck!

I bought the book that Ohio recommends to study from and they tell exactly what sections are going to be on the test and there are no integrals, just derivatives.

I got through half of a Calc course and never learned integrals so a test wthout them is going to be a lot easier for me. Worse case I can take a basic calc course at my local univ before Fall starts but I would rather test out.

Credit as in semester hour or credit for a three credit course? I ask as it's possible that the Ohio U. course would not suffice. If you're certain that it will suffice then the Ohio course sounds good.

    Quote from Georgia Tech's site.

Are there any prerequisites to the MBA Program?
The only prerequisite to the MBA Program is calculus with a grade of "C" or better. While a calculus is not required for us to review your application, it must be completed prior to beginning the MBA program in the fall.

I asked the admissions people if the Calc CLEP test would suffice and they said that's fine. It's 6 semester hrs vs. 2.66 semester hrs for the Ohio State test. I need to find out if it'll work I guess.
