    Hey,

Was also wondering this morning about some of the Independent Study classes at BYU (which might could fill some of 15 hours of upper-level requirements needed at COSC) and was wondering about the term "Speedback Final" and "Proctored Speedback Final". I'm positive, without asking, that a proctored speedback final must mean that I need to track down somebody to take the final with at my local university or library....which I'm comfortable with. But I'm also assuming "Speedback Final" can be taken alone without a proctor.....but what's with the term Speedback? Does it mean I can instantly submit my assignments on the web and receive an instant grade response?

"Speedback" is used with finals and assignments. It's simply a process that lets you submit your exam/quiz/assignment online and get an immediate grade back as opposed to the pen and paper method of days of old.

A "speedback final" means the final exam uses the speedback method and you already know what proctored means. :) That a speedback final doesn't say it must be proctored doesn't mean it won't need to be proctored. Most BYU finals will need a proctor. What the speedback does require is a solid internet connection at your proctors location. They are very liberal about selection of proctors though and you should have no real trouble finding one. Many folks ask the assistance of the local LDS church or use a university exam center.

We enjoyed BYU online courses very much!
