    Hey Nosborne & Novemberdude,

As we discussed months ago, I am now finally graduating from Brooklyn Law School. Took my last final (commercial paper!). Today is the first day of Bar review for the New York Bar exam in July.

I am still interested in the University of London external LLM, and I know we discussed the possibility of the three of us, and anyone else who wanted to join in, getting together so as to try and work out a deal with one of the tutorial providers (spr, lawtutorsonline, etc).

    Are you still interested?

Nosborne, how are you doing with your first year LLM studies?

Hope to hear from ya guya.

Isn't that where Vinny Bagadonuts from My Cousin Vinny went to law school? :D

    Seriously, though, congratulations!

I am lining up access to the enormous number of academic journals necessary to work the program. I did not anticipate how "journal driven" as opposed to "textbook driven" the London LL.M. program is. This really DOES make sense, of course; the LL.M. is a master's degree and is the primary degree qualification to teach law in the U.K. and the rest of the common law world (except the good old U.S.A.) This definitely an ACADEMIC as opposed to PROFESSIONAL qualification. It is opening a world to me that is quite new and rather exciting!

Anyway, it is proving to be a challenge. The University of Arizona, in Tucson, has a PhD program in sociology and therefore has an extensive library of criminal justice periodicals. They are, moreover, only about four hours away by car and it's all empty freeway. I am going to be asking for interlibrary loan services through New Mexico State University, here in Las Cruces. We'll see how anxious they are to help.

I am interested in a tutorial program but my area is criminal law and criminology so I don't know whether that lines up with your plans.

Congratulations on completing your J.D. and good luck with the NY Bar (a notoriously difficult exam).

Oh, BTW, pass the NY Bar BEFORE applying to London. I don't know what your GPA is, but admission to the Bar is a separate ground for qualifying for admission to the LL.M. program. Every little bit helps; they looked pretty closely at me before offering me registration.
