First test, Analyzing Literature. Passed with a 63, had like 8 minutes left over. I read about the first 40-50 pages of the REI guide. Didn't really help. Honestly I don't know how you could study for this test. It's basically reading comprehension.

Next test was Human Growth and Development. I was expecting this to be hard since it has a 33% military pass rate. Cake. Took me like 35 minutes and I got a 66. Know Piagot! Questions about him must have come up at least 10 times. Freud and Ericson also came up. I just finished an on-campus Theories of Personality test so that certainly helped. Also read about half of the REI book.

Since I finished early I decided to take the Dantes test Here's to Your Health. Unfortunately I don't know if I passed, would be surprised if I didn't. I wish I had studied STDs and birth control a little better.

I'm taking the ECE test Organizational Behavior tomorrow and Dantes test Technical Writing and Drug and Alcohol Abuse on Thursday and ECE Research Methods in Psychology next Friday. I'm going to try and cram Principles of Supervision in next week if I can.

12 hrs in one day. Not too bad.

    Good job!

I really envy you military folks in this regard! I wish I had a base where I could walk in and take three tests for free! I have to take two busses to get to the closest CLEP test center, and because of my job I get there late enough that I can take at most one test while I'm there -- no weekend test dates, alas.

On the other hand, I've seen people on this forum who are two hours away from test centers, so I suppose I shouldn't complain!

But all that aside, downing twelve semester-hours in one day is a real achievement! Keep it up!

    StevenFoerster,

CLEP examination are not aviable at any Education Office, or Joint Education Center. Affective April 1, all Military members have to take the exam at National Test Center......$15.00 fee for Administration......and $50.00 from DoD :). Anyway, you can move to my barracks if you want to.....Free food from the Mess Hall. Free physical training every morning includes 15 miles hiking for every other 2 weeks.

    hahahhaa.

Wow, that's unfortunate! That's too bad -- for everything you all do, you should at least get some perks.

I like free stuff, but not quite that much. :)

I don't envy the military. Screw going to Iraq! I just mentioned military pass rates since that's all that's published. Took these at Georgia State University with my own cold flimsy cash.

Give Analyzing Lit a try, 6 credits for 90 minutes of work rocks. I studied for the GMAT a few months ago and it had a lot of reading comprehension so maybe that helped me.

Is that only at the base where you are stationed or is that only for your branch of the military?

    Tekman,

I just spoke with my Ed Center yesterday, and they still administer CLEP exams. I live 2 hours from there though. I will be going to a testing center near me, and pay for $15.00 fee. That is cheaper than what I would pay in gas, especially with the outrageous prices today.

    Greetings,

I believe that applies to all bases. 'Cause I read some information from DoD's website. The reason for that 'cause all the exams had been converted into CBT.

Military Joint Education Centers don't charge civilian $15.00 for administrative fee. They only pay for $50.00 for exam fee.

I am in the military, but I am stationed too far away from the nearest Ed Center. Can you give me advice on what the process is for military doing the exams at a National Test Center? Do I just pay the administrative fee?

    Roscooley,

The National Test Center knows that the examination is FREE for Military member. You only pay $15.00 for administrative fee, or whatever the amount they want to charge for administrative fee.

Just give them a call first, 'cause my first exam at the National Test was a little hard due to their system wasn't update.......so there wasn't Registration for Military Member.....but at the end, it was cool.

East Coast gasoline is much cheaper than West Coast. My mom told me that she has to pay only $1.79 for supreme in Virginia. I have to pay $2.25 in Southern California.
