I have applied to Charter Oak State College and have already found them, even though I have yet to have everything evaluated, to be a very helpful university (even before dishing out the enrollment fee). I have already determined that the English Composition w/ Essay CLEP exam will fulfill the six credits needed for writing. However, I was wondering if anybody knew whether or not the College Mathematics CLEP exam would fulfill the Math requirement? I was told, by an admissions counselor, that I could even use statistics for this requirement. Wishing to eventually earn an MBA, would I not receive more of a benefit by taking and passing Statistics...rather than just passing the College Mathematics CLEP exam? Do most MBA programs necessarily require statistics? My understanding is that I also need 12 Intermediate level classes...which I assume I already have taken (but will still wait on the initial evaluation)...and that I need 15 Upper-Level classes to fulfill degree requirements. Do these 15 Upper-Level classes need to come from the concentration? I'm doing "Individualized Studies" where I plan to transfer in all of the business classes I have...and combine those with Leadership classes. Will all 15 and 12 Intermediate and Upper-Level classes fulfill all of the degree requirements (leaving all of the remaining credits as lower-level requirements)? If this is the case, I will be in wonderful shape...as it will leave the door wide open for me to take more CLEP exams. If need be, how difficult would the College Mathematics exam be for somebody who is definitely more skilled in other areas?

I think the CLEP exam would do, but did you know that Charter Oak has a special Statistics exam? It's worth three Intermediate business credits and three basic mathematics credits -- a total of six!

Yes. The B, I, U classifications are important only to the concentration. That's why you can transfer in up to 90 hours from community colleges.

I'm doing "Individualized Studies" where I plan to transfer in all of the business classes I have...and combine those with Leadership classes.

Why that and not the "Business Administration" concentration?

The Charter Oak statistics exam...where can that be taken? Can it be taken with any proctor, or must it be at the same testing center as the Excelsior exams require? My closest testing center, in that case, would be about 100 miles away.

Anywhere you can recruit a qualifying proctor

If I understand correctly, you can take the exam anywhere you can recruit a qualifying proctor, such as a university professor, or a librarian. In other words, if you live in a county with a public library, you should be all right.

I'm not sure what review materials are good for their exam, however, and I have the feeling it's not a cakewalk.
