Took at look at the AED today. What a waste of time to even go over there. Insanity is written all over that board now.

And, by the way, who in the heck is this Leland Milton Goldblatt guy? Does he have personal vandettas against the Bears?

I think most of us former AED'ers long for the time when Goldblatt was the biggest problem. Thank heavens for this new forum.

And stink it does Bing! [IMG] It is a shame that such an informative DL resource has become a mere circus.

I am thankful for DegreeInfo.com, its administrators and participants.

well, having contributed to the insanity (to some small degree)in the alt.ed.-distance NG, let me just say that one good thing about its present condition is that our resident spammer has shifted his focus from John Bear--whose name is barely mentioned now!--to other targets; he is, however, constantly challenged by a Greek chorus of regular posters from alt.uk.legal shouting him down (in British!) at every opportunity. It is fascinating to me, but then again, I watch (and actually like) "reality" shows on TV.

Other than that, as my granddad used to say, "there's nothing but uproar going on there!"

But until it all passes (and it will), you have degreeinfo, and it certainly does the job.

    Thanks folks

the REALLLLLLLY scary part is the cross posters are from the LEGAL newsgroups! That kind of mentality of their posts is kind of spooky if you think about it.

I have often wondered, but never asked, if anyone had looked into starting a moderated Usenet group, and if not, why not? I don't know exactly what would be involved in getting one started, but moderated Usenet groups do exist, although if I remember correctly they can't be under the alt. hierarchy. While this board is doing a great job of taking the place of AED, a usenet group would be archived and searchable by Google.
