    Good morning!

I am preparing to take my 3rd and 4th CLEPs, Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. For my 5th and 6th exams, I'll be taking the DSST Introduction to Business and the CLEP Introduction to Business Law. I will probably not begin studying for these for at least another 3 or 4 weeks (I'm still studying up for Micro and Macro and will continue until I have the information down cold) but I can start hunting for the books and purchasing, so when the time comes I'm not waiting for a book to arrive by media mail.

Do any of you have suggestions for books I should look for to study for the Intro to Business and Intro to Business Law exams? Both of these are new subjects to me, so the more thorough the source material, the better. (I'm not just wanting a Pass for the exam - I want to know all the information since it will be necessary for my career change.) I do have a subscription to Instantcert.com and both exams are listed, but I have been using Instantcert as a sortof check. I go through the books first to get a good grasp of the information, then I use Instantcert to help me hammer down areas I'm shakey on. I'd prefer not to use Instantcert alone.

    Thank you!

I visited www.bain4weeks.com and noted that she recommends the Barrons book for Business Law. I managed to pick up a copy from Amazon for a decent price. If there are other suggestions for Business Law, I am certainly interested. (I prefer to have more than one book in case a subject doesn't make sense to me. If a subject is worded differently, it will sometimes make a subject clearer.)

I'm finding no recommendations for Introduction to Business study sources on bain4weeks.com or some other sites I've found through searches. I found an inexpensive copy of "Introduction to Business" by Jeff Madura and ordered it, but cannot find any reviews to say if this is a good source. (It was only $0.18 plus S&H so I won't be losing much if it isn't a good source.) If you have a suggestion for a source that has proven to be a benefit, however, I'm all ears.

    Thanks again!

I took and passed both exams with no issues.
    Resources used:
Intro to Bus Law: Barrons Guide. More than adequate, covers all material on CLEP. Just be sure that you use the CLEP outline to hit the required topics as the book covers more than required.

Intro to Bus: Took this one cold. If you have taken intro to Management and Principles of Marketing you will have no problem. Most of this exam is common sense. Topics covered are very basic business questions (P&L, accounting, supervision, marketing) And most questions are of the common sense type.
I would not sweat this one if you have had a few years of experience in the business world. I think it is one of the easiest tests out there. on par with Here's to your health.

    InstantCert

InstantCert supports both CLEP's Introductory Business Law and DANTES's Introduction to business. I haven't used their service but it seems to have gotten good reviews from other DegreeInfo'ers.

    Good luck!

    Oops! Sorry, Lawrie!

Jhastings01 and SteveFoerster - Thank you for the suggestions, also. I'm glad to hear that the Barrons Business Law book will be a good source. I do have a login at Instantcert.com and will definitely be taking advantage of it for these exams.

I'm going to use Business Law Made Easy.

William Keller's Essentials of Business Law I (REA) is next to useless - too little contract law (which is 60% of CLEP B-Law).
