Was googling recently and came across Jonnie's site. Had not thought of it much since the old aed days. Pretty good resource. Has info on MBA's, law programs, etc. http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Haven/2386/distance.html North
I've referenced Jonnie's page many times recently. The last time I read it, Jonnie was overseas and therefore not available to update. Here's to hoping his job doesn't involve travel to Iraq.
I'm still arround Guys, Thanks for still talking about me once a while. =8D I'm working in China now most of the time. NOT Iraq. hehehe Because www.geocities.com is blocked in China, I cannot browse my DL page from China. However, I can still update the contents of my site through geocities.yahoo.com. I may make another update soon to include some new DETC DL MBA programs. Take care and have fun.
The site is actually what brought me here!!! Thanks for the time and effort of it, it was a great resource when I was looking a while back!!
Hey Jonnie, maybe if you get a spare moment or two you can tell us something about DL in China. It's hard figuring it out from here because the university websites are not always very friendly. Thanks, Jack
DL Education in China -- Part I Sure. Jack. The distance education in China is officially called "Network Education" in many universities. All DL programs are authorized by Ministry of Education (MOE). In China's education system, upon graduation, students usually receive two forms proof of education -- graduation certificate designed by the universities themselves (usually different from university to university) and degree diploma designed by MOE (same style for everyone). If a student graduates from a "Network Education" program, his graduation certificate will show that the program is a "Network Education" program. However, the degree diploma won't mention anything about network education. Two DETC accredited MBA programs have been marketed for some time in China. One is CSU http://csuonline.netbig.com/, and the other one is UMT http://umt.netbig.com/. I'm sure that there are several other DL programs from US, UK, and Australia in China too. Because so many people in China hold foreign degrees nowadays, usually MOE will ask those people to have the degrees verified by MOE authorized agencies. MOE has a long list of foreign universites that are recognized. All CHEA recognized US universities are recognized by China MOE. Therefore, CSU and UMT are recognized as I browsed the list some time ago.
