    Greetings,
Has anyone had any experience getting a school to offer DANTES exams?

The local community college system already offers CLEP and I am interested in getting them to expand their offerings.

I have been working on a "what's in it for them" approach.

    What else?

    Thanks in advance.

    Gsmckee,
I have not experience at all getting a school to start offering the exams, but if they will accept transfer credits and your goal is to gain credit hours, try the college listings at Dantes web site.
I loved those things; shaved a year off a brick and mortar/virtual campus with 30 credit hours from Dantes exams, also in the end it didn't harm my chances at grad school!
    best,
    Gavin

In order for the school to offer DANTES exams, there must be an administrator who is willing to take responsibility for ordering, accepting $, proctoring and otherwise administering the test. I'd ask in your Advising or Student Services Office if anyone is willing to do that. Often, the CLEP Administrator (of record) is the person who will be the most logical contact. If there are other people who want the tests, too, it would help to have their signatures.

Schools in the DANTES network don't get any monetary return other than the 'adminsitration' fee of usually no more than $15/test, which doesn't pay for a proctor. What they DO get is a listing in the DANTES publications and a larger network of adult learners to market to.

If you have a military base - even a guard or reserve office - near you, the Education Service Officer is almost always a DANTES Administrator. If you are or have been in the military, those tests are usually free. Good luck.
