Question about CLEP Tests

Forgive me if I sound ignorant, but I have never taken a CLEP examination, so I have a few questions. Is the score report as units on a trascript from the college administering the exam? Are CLEP tests available at the upper division or graduate level? I need a few more units to advance on the salary scale, so I would like to take the exams if the awarded units show up on a transcript.

 

No, you will get a document from CLEP which shows your CLEP score. You can also have CLEP send the document to your school on your behalf. It is then up to your school to award you credit for your transcript. For schools that accept CLEP credit, they generally just award you "CR" (credit) for the course on your transcript, or perhaps they will just say "CLEP". Up to the school.

Up to the school, but generally speaking, most CLEPs are lower division credit, I believe.
