Now everybody can see why I became a member of this group of learned men and women, LOL. Invaluable information to say the least.

If anyone else is interested in the Masters of Legal Studies program do ask away. Dr. Charles Nemeth is the nicest program director around. He even respond to his emails.

Now if you gentlemen and ladies can assist me in locating a DL LL.D program (research) I would really have to mention you when I go to the Senate and perhaps get some major funding for this site (LOL - It could happen). You have to admit it is a great effort!

    GOOD FOR YOU!

But when you get to the Senate, if you could find yourself a seat on the Finance Commitee, they write tax policy, I have two suggestions:

    1) Life-long learning credit needs some work.First it needs to be a refundable credit like EIC, and up to $25K AGI the credit should be 100% at 50K AGI it needs to be 60% and not phase out until you have an single taxpayer with a 75K AGI.

This would help us working-adult-learners tremendously

    2) Constitutional amendment requiring every appropriation of funds contain 100% of its financing mechanism included. In other words if there is new spending while it is being debated everyone will know how it is funded.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

    LL.D/SJD, JSD

Nah, I'm not picky about what school I get either of the above doctoral degrees from. I doubt they offer any of these here in the US through DL. Either way, British, Aussie, South African University, India, I dont particularly care where it comes from, as long as its not a papermill and as long as the fees don't kill me. See how easy I am to please?

There's an LLD program at the University of Queensland. It seems that it's based on publications and research. It's not clear what the residency requirements might be like but I didn't see anything that explicitly stated that any particular period(s) of residency were required. Check it out.

    LLD and SJD

Is there a difference between the SJD and LLD? I thought the SJD was the research doctorate in law, whereas the LLD was an honorary degree only bestowed on old folks who have "made a significant contribution to society." I believe Mark Twain was awarded the LLD, and he had nothing to do with the legal profession apart from hiring it to pick up after him.
