Thanks to all of you that assisted me in searching for a program and an insitution that would deliver that program to me online. I applied and was accepted into the California University of Pittsburgh pioneer Master of Legal Studies: Law & Public Policy program. There were 30 spaces and I made it! The requirements are pretty high 3.00 plus gpa) but the program promises to be an exciting one.

With that said, I am beginning to search for an LL.D program (foreign) that I can make application to. My Masters program is a one year program. Like many of you here, I need to keep busy as I am a professional scholar. I am interested in either an LL.D or a SJD. I prefer a foreign institution, that has open enrollment (can enroll at any time). Any ideas? I asked this before and received good responses which I checked into. I could use any tips possible.

    Thanks guys!

Congratulations, Shay! It sounds like a wonderful opportunity for you. Can you share what your long-term goal is to do with this type of degree?

    Hi

I plan on using my Masters of Legal Studies: Law & Public Policy concentration as a stepping stone into US Politics. Eventually, I hope to get into Congress or the Senate.

The LL.D I plan on persuing is just for informational purposes. I am from the British System so LLB's, LL.M's, LL.D's. O'Levels and A' Levels are familiar to me. More so than a J.D. Remember I'm the one that can't get higher than a 137 on the LSAT exam even with a 3.6 grade point average. No law school would touch me. LOL.

    Thanks, Shay

Congratulations, and don't forget all us little people that you had to step on, once you get to Washington. :D

Don't be so sure that no law school would touch you, whatever your LSAT score. GPA and other graduate education counts for a lot too.

Good luck with whatever you do!

    Congrats.

I'm glad you didn't apply to the geography program at California University of Pittsburgh.

Shay - I am glad to see that we could help point you in the right direction. You definitely need to let us know how that program is run and what sort of growing pains it encounters as it goes through its first year.

In case anybody is curious about the school's name, Pennsylvania names most of its state funded universities after the town in which they are located. This means that the California University of Pennsylvania is located in California, PA. Just some gee whiz knowledge for the curious...

Airtorn: This means that the California University of Pennsylvania is located in California, PA.

John: Now if someone would only start a Pennsylvania University in the town of Pittsburg, California (just north of me) . . .

Uh, John unless you have moved Pittsburg (http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=250&addtohistory=&searchtab=address&searchtype=address&address=&city=pittsburg&state=ca&zipcode=&fakeTab.x=0&fakeTab.y=0&finditform=1&search=Search) is almost due east of you. (I m at my office in Pittsburg as I input this.)
