Does UNIZUL offer a BTh via distance learning?

Does UNIZUL offer distance learning for the Bachelor degree? I know they do for the Ph.D, but I find very little information for this on their site.

OK, another questions, please (Bill G., maybe you can jump in here). What would be the differences in both the nature and philosophical approaches between a UNISAL BTh and a UNIZUL BTh?

    Thanks very much,

    Keith

    Hi Keith

Keith are you still in the process of looking for the right program? Isn't it time to choose and do one? Still, if I'd taken more time and thought myself , perhaps I wouldn't have made two false starts (TTS, ACCS) in the last several years.

The BTh (Bach of Theology) , like other Theological degrees is by different schools awarded for different requirements. Mine was a 5th year of grad work. Unizul does the BTh as a four year undergrad degree for the "more academically inclined." But it doesn't appear to be offered by DL. You could email Dean Loubser to be sure.

The South African Theological Seminary on the other hand does do the ThB by DL I think. Probably others do as well. I think one can do a Bach of Divinity at London Bible College by Dl. That should be a good program.

I do not know the "philosophy" of the Unisa Theology Dept. All that I know of the position of the UZ Faculty would make me think that it is evangelical.

    I picked a school

    Hey Bill,

Thanks for repsonding. Oh, I've chosen a school--had so for some time, but didn't have the money. I do now, though!

Anyway, I've still been hunting around just to see what's out there. University of London's BD looks good. SA's UNISA program seems ok, but quite African oriented. That's fine, except that I wonder how difficult that will make it to take classes that are applicable to me (they don't respond to my e-mails or calls so I can get this straightened out). Further, the names of so many of the courses seem quite socially bent in their theological approach; many of the courses are practical, reflective (at least as they are described), and I can only conclude, since no one seems to call me back or e-mail me, that this is a correct assessment. UNIZUL has a good program, but as you said, I don't think they do the distance learning thing for it. I've called and e-mailed. I'm just waiting now. And as for SAT, well, it seems a bit too charismatic for me (and I do believe in the working by the Spirit in this manner).

I've decided to go with the Open Theological College (validated by the University of Glouchestershire). London School of Theology (formally London Bible College) is an equal contender, but they do not have their BA degree finalized yet. I'd really like to go there, but I think OTC's program is sufficient. I just wish the darned exchange rate wasn't 1.7 +- to my disadvantage, but it's still very, very affordable.

    Well, thanks again,

    Keith

Good luck to you @ Gloucestershire. It's good to get this sort of thing settled, eh?

    Ain't it, though!

Yes, unc, it be good to get it decided!

It's been a long, thought-out process, but I've finally made it.
Just got the app for OTC in the mail, too, so I'm on my way!
