Is it true that Lincoln University,CA is going to be accredited by the regional accreditor?in this case wasc if i'm not mistaken? Does anyone have any info about it? Susan
I think that in the great majority of cases an institution becomes a recognized candidate for accreditation before proceeding on to full accreditation. WASC's website does not currently list Lincoln U. of CA as a recognized candidate. So I think that anyone claiming that Lincoln is "going to be accredited" by WASC is jumping the gun more than a little. http://www.wascweb.org/senior/list.html Lincoln is going through some changes. They have recently moved from their old (and rather attractive) building a block away from USF in San Francisco to a larger and probably less expensive space in an office building in downtown Oakland. Perhaps they have let word get out that they intend to pursue regional accreditation in addition to their present ACICS accreditation. If so, I think that is a great move and I wish them the best of luck. But they haven't got it yet and it is premature to say that they will.
