Well, funny how things catch your eye. I happened across a website,

    www.25best-distant-learning-universities.com

and noticed that among the "25 best" schools are the extremely unwonderful Clayton College of Natural Health and Kennedy Western.

But something looked strangely familar about the page. It turns out it was designed by Accord Web Technologies in India, long Sheila's favorite web designers.

So... I check to see the ownership of the domain... it claims to be owned by "thedegree.com", but no owner or address is listed!

So... on a whim, noticing that both 25Best and degree.com are hosted by Hurricane Electric (Sheila's favorite ISP) I decide to check the IP address... and low and behold, the two sites have the exact same IP.

So we have 25best and degree.com, with supposedly different ownership, hosted on the same box, on the same IP. We have thedegree.com, which supposedly is owned by somebody other than Sheila, hosted on a Rackspace box. (Further checking shows that "thedegree.com" is listed by NSMI.com, one of Sheila's companies...)

None of this would make any nevermind to anyone, except that if anyone remembers, Sheila was shilling for Kennedy-Western on her beloved degree.com (former home to the MIGS debacle). Once it was pointed out here that she was doing that, she promptly removed them from the page... apparently only to create another phony company and hawk K-W and Clayton (not to mention ACCIS) on a different site.

So why does she go to the effort of *appearing* to care about the quality of the schools she's promoting? Why the cloak-and-dagger with the fake domain registration for sites that are obviously hers?

Why not do as the owner of collegehints does and say "Screw it, I don't give a rat's ass about quality, I only care about cash, I'll be happy to lead people down the path to ruin with Kennedy-Western?

Just another interesting (to me, anyway...) chapter in the Sheila saga. Now I wonder how long it will be before there's a change to those two sites, or until an email with a long and convoluted tale of stolen identity, compromised computer logins, and so forth shows up?

PS: If anyone happens by Sheila's sites and happens upon a school they like, it would be great if you could request information through our site rather than hers.

We get a small fee for each lead that we submit to our sponsored schools, which helps to pay the (not inconsequential) bandwidth bills and upkeep costs for degreeinfo, and every lead we generate helps a little.

Interestingly, Accord even includes a quote fro Sheila on the page hyping its services.

""Your service is extraordinary and your prices are the best around. We owe you so much." - Sheila Danzig, sheiladanzig.com"

    and a quote here:

""I have been working in this business for quite some time and have worked with many partners and web developers. The rate and quality that AWT is pushing this site out at is outstanding." - Mark Garner, 25best-distant-learning-universities.com"

Does Mark work for Sheila? Who knows?
