Hello Folks, I've written a couple of messages and so far I've received interesting ideas. I do have two general requests: 1.) Please post the, in your individual opinions, best Distance MBA program for my situation. My situation: Graduated with a B.S. at UMUC. Looking for a Distance MBA program that's RA and has a professional accreditation. A structured program is my preference (i.e. Cohort). I'll be using this degree in my current profession (govt.), as well as when I retire from govt. work. Also, a dual degree (i.e. MBA/MS) is a bonus. 2.) Does is matter if the school is AACSB or IACBE accredited? Or are they both reputable professional accreditations. If there are threads with these topics existing, please let me know. Thanks in advance... -k
In my opinion is does not matter unless you want to work for a major corp in a financial arena, and then the school is more important (eg. Haas, Stanford, Harvard, etc.). Question: will the government reimburse you? If yes go for the best avialble. 1) http://www.berkeley.columbia.edu/ 2) http://www.fuqua.duke.edu/admin/gemba/ If no: try: If you want AACSB http://www.learn.colostate.edu/degrees/mba.asp If you do not care: http://som.csudh.edu/mpaoncampus/Rightframe.htm Also you list your location as California. You should check around locally as there are several evening and weekend programs that would probably fit your need through the US or CSU systems.
I wondered what the difference was between AACSB and IACBE because International College is accredited by IACBE but not by AACSB.
As pointed out in a different thread the AACSB appears to favor full time instructors vs adjuncts with a real job and real experience. Have no idea what the other one is so cannot comment. Not a fan of ACBSP but why were they left out? Give me a program with: 1. PT instructors with CURRENT VERIFIED REAL WORLD Private industry experience. I am successful in the private sector and resent some full time instructor with limited experience as a teacher or one that last had a great business idea in 1938. 2. Some face to face group classes. 3. RA accredited 4. No desire to teach. Who wants to work for peanuts? That is it. I can network and sell myself so no need for a fancy name school. Still looking
